How to find strength from the Lord

  1. In this world we have so manythings that try to pull us down and make us feel that we can't make it. How do we find the strength to make it through these problems? This is the introduction to the Book of mormon. "Concerning this record the Prophet Joseph Smith said: “I told the brethren that the Book of Mormon was the most correct of any book on earth, and the keystone of our religion, and a man would get nearer to God by abiding by its precepts, than by any other book.”

  2. Luke 11:9 "And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you"
We often over look some of the simplest blessings God has given us. Wh can not brake his promises He is God.

  3. Before I left on my mission the starter in my truck went out. I was thinking are you joking me? But I learned a very good lesson.
I did not know how to change a starter. I asked my dad, I look in the Internet, I ask my neighbor. No one that was available know how to change it. I spent a full day trying to change it. Every time I got to a point what I had no clue what to do I would say a little prayer. And a new Idea would come into my head. I would try it and then i would get close and and then an other new idea would come into my mind. Ideas of if there was a tool that looked like this then I could get it. I would go over and ask my neighbor if there was one and there was. Then Ideas of asking my dad for help would come into my mind. This happened over the course of 24 hours. Finally I god it out! I was so amazed. It was until my dad took me by the side and asked what I had learned form this. I told him That it is hard to change a starter.
He said look at what you did. You would try something see that it would get you closer and then ask for help and then act on the advise you would receive. That is how it is with God. We must be able to act on the impressions we receive. When we do so we show our willingness to God. He then will bless us with more insight to help us through our trials.
In revelation given to Joseph Smith the Lord said this,Doctrine and Covenants 84:85 "Neither take ye thought beforehand what ye shall say; but treasure up in your minds continually the words of life, and it shall be given you in the very hour that portion that shall be meted unto every man."
The Lord can not with hold his promises from us if we do as he has asked us to do.
